Kathy and I planted these Purple Cherokee and Black Prince Hierloom tomato plants in her yard in the early summer. The plants were bought from
Tree and Leaf farm. The planting method was from
Grow Better Vegetables blog, using fish heads among other soil enhancements to get the plants healthy and strong from the start.

We've eaten many of the tomatoes fresh. But we had some many come ripe this week that I decided to try preserving tomatoes for the first time. I used recipe guidelines from
Blue Water Sands recipe at Group Recipes. I followed her guidelines but did not crush many of the tomato's (leaving alot of big chunks).
